What Clients Say About Working With Grants Assist

Since 2018, Grants Assist has helped over thousands of Australian businesses, startups, and non-profit organisations explore grant and funding opportunities. Our clients range from sole traders and small businesses to community organisations and established companies across every state and territory. Each one uses the Grants Assist portal to navigate a funding landscape that spans government programs at every level, as well as private sector and specialty programs rarely found in one place.

This page shares experiences from clients who have worked with us and provides an overview of what portal membership includes.

What Members Access Through the Grants Assist Portal

The Grants Assist portal is a centralised research platform giving members access to over 1,000 assistance programs, maintained and updated by our research team on an ongoing basis.

Programs in the portal span:

  • Federal government grants and assistance programs, including business development, innovation, export, and employment programs administered at a national level
  • State and territory government programs, covering all eight Australian states and territories, each with programs specific to their regional priorities and industries
  • Local council funding and support initiatives, community, business, and infrastructure programs administered at a local level that are often overlooked in broader grant searches
  • Private sector funding opportunities, including programs offered by financial institutions, accelerators, angel investor networks, and venture capital programs
  • Specialty and non-profit programs, including technology credits, community development funding, and programs designed specifically for registered charities and NFPs that are not typically listed through government channels

The portal is built around finding what exists, not just what is obvious. Many of the programs members discover through the portal are ones they would not have located through a standard web search or through any single government website.

How the Portal Works

The portal is designed as a research and navigation tool. Members interact with it directly to find, shortlist, and track the programs most relevant to their situation.

Search and filter tools allow members to filter the full database by location, industry category, and program status; open, ongoing, or closed; or to search directly by keyword to find a specific program or program type.

My Favourites allows members to bookmark any program they want to return to, building a personal shortlist as they work through the database.

My Progress gives members a Kanban-style board to move programs through stages; Apply for This, Application in Progress, and Application Submitted; so they can track where each opportunity stands at a glance.

My Notes allows members to attach personal notes directly to any program; reminders, questions, eligibility considerations, or action items;  kept in one place alongside the program information.

Alerts can be configured to notify members when new programs matching their criteria are added to the database, so they do not miss newly opened funding rounds.

An introductory video guide is available immediately on login, walking new members through how to use each feature of the portal efficiently from day one.

The portal is a vital information resource, not a passive document. Members who engage with it systematically, using the filters, building their favourites list, tracking their progress, are the ones who get the most value from it.

What Our Clients Say

 by Joseph Martin

Was a pleasure dealing with them. Helped our sports club by identifying 2 grants which were a perfect match to our circumstances.

I was unsure about the whole grants process, I contacted Grants Assist as I was looking at taking on an apprentice and needed money for it. The person I spoke to was helpful in answering all my questions. If you are new at this and don't know much about grants, it’s worth using them.

 by Sarah Finnegan

Apply for as many grants as you possibly can, one is bound to suit you perfectly and help you gain that funding when you need it most. I was lucky enough to receive a $2,000 grant one day before my laptop suddenly stopped working.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What does the Grants Assist portal give me access to?

A: The portal gives members access to a regularly updated database of over 1,000 government and private sector funding programs. It covers federal, state, territory, and local council programs across Australia, as well as private sector programs, including financial institution support schemes, accelerator programs, investor networks, and specialty funding for non-profit organisations, that are not typically listed through government channels. Members can search, filter, bookmark, and track programs using built-in tools.

Q: What types of organisations can use Grants Assist?

A: The portal is used by Australian small businesses, sole traders, startups, non-profit organisations, community groups, and established companies across all industries and all states and territories. The program database spans a broad range of industries and business types, and members can filter by their location and sector to find programs relevant to their situation.

Q: How do I find programs relevant to my business or organisation?

A: The portal includes filter tools for location, industry category, and program status, as well as a keyword search function for direct searches by program name or type. Members can also set up alerts to be notified when new programs matching their profile are added.

Q: How current is the information in the portal?

A: Our research team maintains and updates the portal continuously to reflect new program openings, changes to eligibility requirements, and program closures. The database is one of the more comprehensive and current centralised sources of Australian funding program information available, covering programs across all levels of government and the private sector in a single searchable platform.

Q: How is this different from searching government grant websites directly?

A: Government websites at each level; federal, state, and local, publish information on their own programs only. To research all available options across every source independently would require visiting dozens of separate websites, each covering a different jurisdiction or program type. The Grants Assist portal brings these together in one database and also includes private sector and specialty programs that do not appear on government websites at all.

Q: What industries and locations are covered?

A: The portal covers all Australian states and territories and a broad range of industries including agriculture, arts and media, business development, community services, education, healthcare, hospitality and tourism, innovation and research, manufacturing, retail, technology, and more. Both metropolitan and regional businesses are catered for.

Q: How long has Grants Assist been operating?

A: Grants Assist has been operating since 2018 and has worked with over thousands of Australian businesses and organisations exploring grant and funding opportunities.

A: Call our team on 1300 005 999 or submit an enquiry through our website. Our team will explain what the portal covers, walk you through how it works, and help you understand whether it suits your situation before you commit to anything.
